Welcome to Storjord Hotel

In 1923 my great-grandparents built Storjord Hotel in Saltdal, a wooded valley between mile high mountains just north of the arctic circle.

The hotel closed its doors in 1940, and has been uninhabited since 1970. But in 2009 Storjord Hotel was restored and reopened, and it is now one of the most genuinely old-fashioned wooden hotels in Norway.

We warmly recommend you to spend the night in our unique historic guest rooms.
