The environs of Storjord Hotel
This suspension bridge is part of a network of footpaths in the woods surrounding Storjord Hotel.
To the west Ølfjell rises to 1751 metres. These mountains protect Storjord from humid winds from the sea. This is why Storjord is blessed with suprisingly warm and dry summers.
Solvågtind (1559 metres) in the winter sun. Both Ølfjell and Solvågtind are situated inside the
national parks that surround Storjord.
The dramatic Junkerdalsura canyon is the home of several orchids and other rare flowers.
The largest salmon caught in the Saltdal river in 2022 weighed 19,9 kilos.
